Directorate of Mines and Minerals is a technical wing of the Department of Industry, Commerce and Enterprises of Govt. of West Bengal that operatesunder overall vision of Smt. MamataBanerjee, Hon’ble Chief Minister, West Bengal and under the guidance of Hon’ble MIC, Dr. Shashi Panja for locating natural mineral resources and areas of revenue generation. It has been created for promotion of systematic exploration and exploitation of minerals in this State and has been operating since 1957.
